Nutella the Angel

My friends, Tracy and Sojourner,(AKA the ADPP girls, as I called them), were coming back to their house 5 kilometers outside of Inhambane and they were greeted by a very healthy looking pit-bull mix dog that trotted out of their house as if she owned it.  This was not their dog.  They had never seen it before.  They had no idea where where she came from. This dog dropped out of nowhere.  She seemed well trained, she was very clean, and strong.  She was also wearing a leather collar so they knew she belonged to a foreigner, maybe a South African resort owner from the beach.  She was lost.

This dog became known as Nutella.  She followed them to school, slept under their desks, jumped into hitches they caught to town with them, accompanied them to BBQs.  She even got attacked by their cat.  Through all of this she was so sweet and loving and for the life of them, they couldn't figure out where she came from and who she belonged to.

I told them I thought she was some kind of spirit that had come to protect them and make them happy.  It was funny, but she did come during one of their emotionally low-points.

So, they hang out with the dog for about two weeks, then they spend the night at my house and have to leave her at their house in the middle of nowhere.  Long story short, she disappears again.  We secretly hope she didn't get hit by a car but they never see her again.

Now, cut to this past weekend at Barra beach.  I go with Wendy, Lynne, and Ty.  Sunday morning Ty and I are relaxing by the pool.  I open my eyes from a daydream, look over towards the pool entrance and who is trotting down to see us again but...NUTELLA?!  It was her!!!!!  I was so happy that she wasn't dead.  I am very good at remembering faces so I remembered hers.  I also confirmed it with the cat scratches all over her face.  (They were healing slowly, bless her heart).

We weren't able to ask whose she was and get the story of her disappearance.  We just assumed that she belonged at Barra Lodge, the place where we were staying that weekend.

I still think she is a spirit angel.   :)

OH MY GODDDD this is the best news ever. You made my day. I'm so happy to hear she's ok. She's probably busy making people happy at Barra lodge, as if they weren't happy enough already. Thanks for the update
